Russia launches major new telescope into space

MOSCOW — Russia’s space agency says a Russian Proton-M rocket has successfully delivered a cutting-edge space telescope into orbit after days of launch delays.Roscosmos said the telescope, named Spektr-RG, was delivered into a parking orbit before a final burn Saturday that kicked the spacecraft out of Earth’s orbit and on to its final destination: the L2 Lagrange point.Lagrange points are unique positions in the solar system where objects can maintain their position relative to the sun and the planets that orbit it.Located 1.5 million kilometres (0.93 million miles) from Earth, L2 is particularly ideal for telescopes such as Spektr-RG. If all goes well, it will arrive at its designated position in three months. If Spektr-RG reaches L2 successfully, it will be the first Russian spacecraft to operate beyond Earth’s orbit since the Soviet era.The Associated Press read more

← Previous Story IHF will pay compensation for participation at WC! Next Story → Bogdan Wenta: “Karol can play for Poland again” We saw player lists, but who are the most successfull coaches in season behind us? That can be a tough and inconvenient question for all people who love our sports, but Handball-Planet decided to face with him. Here is our TOP 10 list of “Best jobs” in 2009/2010 season.1. Claude Onesta (France)What to say about his job. France done something what never before anyone do. In January they took “triple title” after winning EURO 2010 in Austria. Easy. Never easier to confirm domination.2. Alfred Gislason (THW Kiel)Another big season for THW Kiel, but never before with triumph on “Final Four” tournament in front of 20 thousands people and 28 millions in front of TV. Gislason broke stereotypes about invincibility of Ciudad Real, without some crucial players and we had to take off our hat…3. Vladimir Maksimov (Chehovski Medvedi)Russian “Bears” were first time in semifinals of Champions League, just on time to participate on first “Final Four” tournamet. Great success for Maksimov, who won everything in handball sport…4. Talant Duyshebaev (Ciudad Real)30 games and as many victories in ASOBAL telling us a story about total domination of Ciudad Real. Charismatic men with mentality of winner make a diference and his name is Talant. Even if he has Barcelona on his back, he is still first one…5. Sead Hasanefendic (VfL Gummersbach)Experienced coach made a lot of problems to younger collegues, Gislason and Schwalb, with VfL Gummersbach who was at the edge of collapse during season. At the end, Hasanefendic team beat much stronger rivals, took fifth place in Bundesliga and lifted the Cup Winners Cup trophy. Great season…6. Dagur Sigurdson (Austria)This young coach on two beanches (also Fuchse Berlin) lead Austria through the dream of EURO 2010 in their country, which was finished with fantastic 9th place, best one in national history. Continuation of that was Visa for WC 2011 in Sweden, after which he has to say “Godbye” because of Fuchse Berlin ultimatum. Obviosly, Icelandic coach has a big potential to become one of the best at the World. That is showing also “five from five” score at the beginning of Bundesliga this season.7. Gudmundur Gudmundson (Iceland)Another Icelandic coach. Gudmundur hasn’t lucky with his team GOG Svendborg who went to bankruptcy, but he keep good results with Icelandic national team (won bronze medal at EURO 2010). Tournament in Austria showed that Olympic Games final wasn’t coincidence.8. Bogdan Wenta (Vive Targi Kielce)Legend of Polish handball, Bogdan Wenta flying on euphoric wind of love for handball in his country. The best prove is improvement in Vive Targi Kielce, Polish champion, who is becoming a new force in European handball. Polish team has an amibition to play TOP handball. Last season in CL showed potential for that.9. Lajos Mocsai (Hungary)Even he made “expected” result with MKB Veszprem in Europe (CL 1/4 final) and “double title” in Hungary (with a problem against Pick Szeged in Cup Final), he deserved to be on this list because of success with Hungary national team in qualification for WC 2011 in Sweden. After 14th place in Austria, he was brave to take over team and try to beat Noka Serdarusic with Slovenia. He did it…10. Zoran Kurtes (HCM Constanta)Unfortunately posthumously, Zoran deserved to be on this list. With HCM Constanta he entered TOP 16 phase of Champions League, as a first Romanian team ever (From 1992). Also, team from Black Sea was the best in Romanian League, what isn’t so easy in last few seasons…Source & Link to www.krosrts.rs/handball/ Claude OnestaDagur SigurdssonThe best handball coaches read more
