See How Extra Game of Thrones Is With This AnimeStyled Opening

Stay on target Game of Thrones is one of the most convoluted shows on TV, so it makes sense that it would totally work as an anime series. There are some extremely complex plots when it comes to anime to begin with, so there’s totally no surprise here that it would make an awesome anime epic. That’s why French animator Malec went and created an amazingly spot-on rendition of the Game of Thrones title credits. If you didn’t know better, you’d think the show was actually coming to Japan for its first season. The clip pretty much nails every single thing you normally see in anime openings, from the flashes of lightning to serious portraits of the major players, a huge and gaudy logo, and even insidious and dramatic scenes that forecast certain story-related things that are still to come in the series. What’s more, everyone is accurate to their TV series counterparts. Daenerys looks appropriately menacing, Jon Snow is looking like a pouty little kid trying to be intimidating, and well, the gang’s all here! Just see for yourself.I especially enjoyed all the house’s sigils being strung together in a super-quick montage reminiscent of some of the best anime series I’ve seen that have made similar design decisions. It even has its own custom-made theme song, which sounds like a lot of nonsense, but it does at least have the words “Game of Thrones” in it, and I’m kind of tired of hearing the HBO version of the theme, anyway. This is an extremely impressive piece of fanart that really makes you wonder why there isn’t an anime version of the show in the first place. Looks like someone should get on it, and fast, at least while George R.R. Martin is still around to see it. At this rate, the anime might happen before we get the next book.center_img ‘Game of Thrones’ Targaryen Prequel Series Is Reportedly Coming to HBO‘Game of Thrones’ Star Kit Harington Joins Marvel’s &#… last_img
